From the 1950's until the 1970's Hammer Films made a total of 9 Dracula films and 6 Frankenstein films starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. John Forbes Robertson took on the role of Dracula in The Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires in 1974. Which was the last Dracula made by Hammer Films.
The production of the Hammer Frankenstein films also finished in 1974 with Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell, starring Peter Cushing and Shane Briant. Shane Briant playing the young assistant to Cushing's Baron Frankenstein. Now nearly 40 years later, it would be amazing if Hammer Films would bring back Shane Briant to assume the role of the Baron himself.
It is exciting news to see Hammer Films finally making a comeback. With their recent success, The Woman in Black taking the world by storm, one can only hope that they will be back on top and ready to make more of the horror films that we have all come to cherish.
